Parents often worry how their children are affected by separation and parental conflict. You may find it helpful to have some feedback from your children about how they are feeling or coping and if they have any worries they want to share with you. This information can assist you when you are making parental arrangements.

A child focused or child inclusive process assists parents in their decision making by:

  • Identifying the needs of the children and what is in their best interests.
  • Assisting parents to understand how children are coping and how best to support them after separation.
  • Giving developmental information about children.
  • Answering parent’s questions and any concerns they may have.

Child Inclusive practitioners need to be qualified and registered to provide these services.
